Increasing the messaging limits
Initially, business phone numbers are limited to 250 business-initiated conversations in a 24-hour moving period, but this limit can be increased.
Messaging limits can be increased to the following:
- 1K business-initiated conversations
- 10K business-initiated conversations
- 100K business-initiated conversations
- An unlimited number of business-initiated conversations.
There are specific requirements that you must satisfy to be eligible for the increase in 1000 messaging limit:
- Keep your business phone number active and rated well: Make sure your business phone number is "Connected" and has a Medium or High-quality rating.
- Verify your business portfolio: Complete business verification to increase trust with customers and unlock higher messaging limits.
- Gain approval for your WABA display name: to be more representative to your clients, it is preferable to show your business display name in chats and notifications, to do so, it is crucial that you get approval for your WABA display name.
Once you have accomplished these conditions, you will reach the 1k conversations limit as this will qualify you to reach upper limits which require different criteria to be fulfilled, the following is a description of these criteria.
Meet these conditions to reach 10000 messaging limit and beyond:
- Your number must be connected.
- Your quality rating must be Medium or High.
- You must open enough conversations: You must open at least half of your current messaging limit in the last 7 days.
For example:
If your current limit is 1000 conversations and you have the following scenario:
- Day 1: You open 100 conversations.
- Day 2: You open 200 conversations (total 300 in the last 7 days).
- Day 3: You open another 200 conversations (total 500 in the last 7 days), So you meet the threshold of 500 conversations over several days.
- Day 4: Your messaging limit will be increased to 10K, 24 hours after you hit the 500 conversations on Day 3.
